Dear Titleholder,
The Abacoa Property Owner's Assembly (APOA) would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Abacoa community. We are a new community born from the tried and true ideas of community that have brought people together for generations. In addition to this "master" association, there are "homeowner" associations for the residential areas and "property owner's" associations for the non-residential areas. Please feel free to let us know your concerns and questions so we can be of assistance to you. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may telephone 561.745.6400, fax to 561.745.6403, or send an e-mail to poa@abacoa.com to reach us.
The relationships of the individual association to the APOA are much like the federal government's to the individual state governments, the regional vs. the local, the general vs. the specific. We are here to assist the homeowners and individual associations of Abacoa with any questions or problems you may have, and to facilitate relationships and communication among the neighborhoods, including the retail, commercial, institutional and recreational interests in Abacoa. It is important to us that the relationships of our diverse groups carry the "neighbor" concept forward in reality as well as in spirit.
Issues or problems confined to your neighborhood or district association should be brought first to the management company or board of directors for your association. They will be most knowledgeable and best able to help you in those cases. We can help with issues of a more global nature; issues involving property and people outside your neighborhood. Bringing your concerns to us will help us to better understand and to provide better service to all the owners in Abacoa.
Communication is a key element in a community. We administer the publishing of the Abacoa newspaper, the Abacoa Community News, which will come to your door monthly. This Intranet also is administered by APOA, which provides not only the Abacoa Home Page (viewiable using most web browsers), but also an exclusive intra-community communications network, accessed by individual passwords, issued by the APOA. Finally, we have a community TV channel set up whereby our residents can tune into channel 63 for information and events occurring in our community.
We also work to maintain and enhance the relationships of Abacoa, acting as liaison for the community and its titleholders with the Town of Jupiter, Palm Beach County, Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District, ENCON, Adelphia Cable and any other public or private entities who serve the community at large. As time goes on, we will form committees to answer needs for volunteer efforts and titleholder input. We will be sending out information about APOA matters to all titleholders to keep you informed on POA matters.
APOA is responsible for maintenance of the landscaping along the major roadways in and around Abacoa. Architectural review, for the most part, is handled through the neighborhood or district association. Only those exterior changes visible from outside the community and changes to community common areas will be reviewed by APOA's Community Architect, the committee assigned to this task. Only those changes with documented approval of the neighborhood or district association are reviewed.
Once again, welcome to Abacoa. We look forward to knowing and working with you. Always, please feel free to contact us with your questions and concerns.
