Clubs / Groups

Activities Coordinator Chris Kendrick keeps her finger on the pulse of a myriad of groups which appeal to a wide range of interests. She is also continually starting new groups/clubs and activities. She looks forward to communicating with all Abacoa residents. If you want more information about any of the current groups/clubs, those in formation, and/or you have some ideas, please contact Chris at CKendrick@abacoa.com or 561-624-7788

  Abacoa Singles
A place to meet friends and have fun!  All ages are welcome and encouraged to join.  Get to know people to meet for a movie, see a play together, try a new restaurant together and go on outings as a group. Guests are welcome at activities and every member is encouraged to bring a single friend along to events.
All Abacoa Happy Hours
Monthly event targeting specific neighborhoods to socialize and see who lives down the street.
Bike Club
Aimed at all ages and levels of fitness.  Rides will be planned for kids and beginners and as intense as it gets for the highly skilled riders.  Join to enjoy scenic leisurely rides through Abacoa or go with a group to one of the beaches.  Rides are on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. Meet in front of the Roger Dean Stadium and leave promptly at 3 p.m.  Riders and passengers under 16 years of age must wear a helmet.

Dive/Snorkeling Club

Doggie Play Group
As this group is formed, members will decide what dates, times and locations they will meet to hang out with fellow dog lovers.  Make friends with other dog owners for “play dates” or dog walks. Great resource for finding canine companions to attend Abacoa dog friendly events like Yappy Hour or Dog Day’s at Roger Dean Stadium.
Empty Nesters
This group is the revival of a group started several years ago by the residents.  Formed for the over 50 age group and encourages participation of singles and couples. The goal is to have organized events inside the community as well as trips to theatres and daytime outings.

Kids Swim Lessons
Every child in Florida should know how to swim, whether or not they have a backyard pool.

Lunch Bunch
This group combines professionals and retired residents, men, women, spouses or individuals welcome.  Nice environment for socializing and networking your business to residents.  This is a great way to try out Abacoa and other local restaurants.  Lunch Bunch meets monthly – usually the 2nd Thursday.
