Dr. Benito Rakower devotes this one-day lecture to three books, and one paper, that are arguably the most influential achievements of the modern era that began with the French Enlightenment. Together, they essay an enormous range of discovery and knowledge. "Du contrat social" - Rousseau, 1762 , "The Wealth of Nations" - Adam Smith, 1776, "The Origin of Species" - Darwin, 1859, and "The Special Theory of Relativity" - Einstein, 1905. There will be a comprehensive presentation of each work, followed by discussion and questions.
