DEREK GORES SELECTED AS COMMEMORATIVE POSTER ARTIST FOR THE 2019 ARTIGRAS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL

Memory strength dependent on abundance of ‘package’ deliveries

JUPITER, FL – NOV. 30, 2018 –Neurons communicate with each other by exchanging gifts — molecules that pass back and forth across the synapse in tiny packages called synaptic vesicles. A team from Scripps Research has shown that the number of these vesicles, not only the number of synapses, plays an important role in how neurons share information. Moreover, increases in the number of vesicles at specific types of synapses lead to better memory formation.

Martinique Halloween

The Martinique neighborhood, with the support of their HOA Board of Directors, held a community Halloween party on Sunday, October 28th. There were plenty of games (including goblin golf, ring tosses, bean bag tosses, sack races, mummy wrap, etc.), Halloween crafts and tattoos, as well as a photo area. Residents wore some amazing costumes and brought fantastic food to share.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter has announced its course offerings for the spring semester, which begins Wednesday, March 14.

Taught by FAU professors and distinguished guest lecturers, course offerings include such varied subjects as foreign policy, political science, film, music, art history and literature. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute was established to provide adults of all ages the opportunity to enrich their lives through non-credit, university-level courses with no homework or tests.
