JUPITER, FLORIDA (April 19, 2023) - After months of planning, fundraising, practicing, and marching, the Jupiter High School Marching Band will take the national stage in the 2023 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. “The band has worked extremely hard this year and I am so thankful to have been a part of this experience. Attending this parade is such an amazing opportunity and I could not have asked for a better way to end my senior year,” said Ragini Aggarwal, senior Front Ensemble Leader. In addition to marching along Washington, D.C.'s historic Constitution Avenue, the 90+ band members will complete a program of sightseeing and other educational activities while in D.C. The band will also have the opportunity to attend the National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, which will feature the National Symphony Orchestra. Makena Mutchler, Head Drum Major, said “I love this group so much and I have learned so much about myself and how to work together, I am forever grateful for Mr. Ross and the SOJ program. Having the band participate in the National Memorial Day Parade seems the perfect way to end my high school year.” Evan Wester, Drum Major, said “As a senior leader in the band, I’ve really enjoyed seeing our younger members grow and develop a real love for marching band. I am glad to be a part of this final experience with everyone.” Ryan Ross, Jupiter High School Band Director, said “I am so proud of the hard-working students and their supportive families this year.
