Jupiter Community High School Hosts the FMBC State Marching Band Championships
Jupiter Community High School is honored to host the FMBC State Marching Band Championships, the premier statewide competition that crowns the best marching bands in Florida across all size categories. This state event, expected to draw over 4,000 attendees, will take place on November 16th at Jupiter Community High School. Morning regional competitions will feature Class 4A and 5A bands, followed by the finals competition for all Class 1A through 5A finalists in the afternoon. This marks Jupiter’s 20th year of hosting the Festival of Bands, a major marching band event in the area.
Bands of all sizes, from Class 1A (less than 49 members) to Class 5A (126+ members), will compete for "Best in Class" awards and the coveted "Fan Favorite" title. The event promises to be an electrifying showcase of musical talent and precision from across the state.
Senior Drum Major Emma Bennett shared her excitement: “I have had an amazing four years marching at Jupiter High School and am so excited to end my high school marching journey on my home field, sharing it with the Florida band community. We are all very grateful for this opportunity.” Assistant Drum Major Skylar David added, “This last performance will be our best! The senior leaders are thrilled to share our final show in our hometown.”
Jupiter High School Band and Festival Director Ryan Ross expressed his enthusiasm about hosting this year’s competition: “We are thrilled to welcome bands from across Florida to compete in this premier state final event. The dedication, passion, and artistry these students bring to their performances will undoubtedly make this one of the most memorable competitions yet.”
FMBC Executive Director Cathy Kersten echoed the excitement, saying, “I have been incredibly impressed by the Jupiter High School administration, staff, and band program. They have been fantastic partners in making this one of the best events yet for the state.”
